Financial Education Resources for Hispanic Consumers

Financial Education Tour

In August 2007, Chase, MasterCard® and Telemundo launched a financial education tour that visited five major U.S. cites. The companies believe in the importance of educating Hispanic consumers about smart financial practices and money management. Chase worked with FreddieMac as the exclusive advertising sponsor in select markets for the Telemundo series, “Nuestro Barrio” (Our Neighborhood)—a Spanish-language TV mini-series about life for U.S. Hispanics. The series’ storylines incorporate educational messages about important financial issues, such as money management, credit and home ownership.

MasterCard® and the Hispanic College Fund

MasterCard® and the Hispanic College Fund have worked together for over ten years to provide direct scholarships to more than 50 Hispanic college students. Ongoing tradition of serving the Hispanic community

Chase and MasterCard® have an ongoing tradition of serving the Hispanic community. In 2005, Hispanic Magazine chose MasterCard® for its Corporate 100 list for the third consecutive year. In 2006, LatinaStyle named both Chase and MasterCard® in the list of the 50 Best Companies for Latinas. 

Financial products and services with Hispanics in mind

In addition, Chase has created financial products and services with the unique needs of the Hispanic community in mind. Chase offers Spanish-language services, including bilingual branch employees and customer service in Spanish, as well as credit card applications, new cardmember materials and card statements in Spanish. Chase recently introduced Rapid Cash®, an easy, safe and free service allowing U.S. customers to send money to family members in Mexico.
