Financial Tips and Programs for Chase Military Cardmembers
Many military families face challenges as they try to maintain financial security while their loved ones are serving abroad. Chase recognizes that these challenges come in many shapes and sizes. To help military families, Chase proudly offers the following tips and programs:
- Keep track. Maintaining a checklist list of all of your family’s expenses, especially bills, will help you determine how much money your family needs each month.
- Make room. As you determine how much money your family needs, factor in additional expenses that your family may come across during your deployment.
- Start saving. Set aside money before deployment to help cover your family’s financial needs while you are away.
- Stretch your dollars. Look into the various savings options available to you; some can offer you more for your money.
- Be open. Talk finances with your spouse and children in an open and frank manner.
- Ask questions. Talk to lenders and other service providers about any discounts or benefit programs they might offer to military personnel and their families.
- Get advice. Family members, friends, and your financial institution can offer you valuable help as you plan for active duty.
- Get educated. Be sure to learn as much as you can about managing your finances through financial literacy courses and other resources.
- Be credit wise. Always keep track of your credit card bills and payments, and make sure you pay off more than the minimum balance each month.
- Share info. Before you deploy, make sure your spouse has access to and control of your accounts.
